Do You Have to be Sinless?

Barrage of questions for you this morning...but really, there's only 1...

Do you have to be sinless...

...to pray to God?
...to believe in Jesus?
...to seek his forgiveness?
...to hope in his love?

Do you have to be sinless...

...to praise him? to worship alongside others?
...to lead others in praise or worship?
...to tell people what he's done for you, what what he can do for them?
...to lead others to God?

Do you have to be sinless...

...to be baptized?
...to baptize others?
...to take communion?
...to give communion?

Do you have to be sinless...

...to give?
...to serve him and others?
...to serve like this in a church?
...to lead in a church?
...to preach in a church?

Ok...

Now instead of asking if you have to be sinless, let's rephrase it.

Do you have to "not be guilty of some particular sin."

Put whatever you want there. Some mundane or commonplace sin...or maybe something brutal...something extreme.

Do you have to...

...not be a liar
...not ever be mean
...not be proud
...not have problems with lust

Do you have to...

...not cheat on your spouse
...not be divorced
...not over-drink
...not over-eat

Do you have to...

...not be a sex offender
...not be a child molester
...not be a murderer

Do you have to...

...not have tattoos
...not be lazy
...not be a thief
...not be gay

How did you respond when the question was just do you have to be sinless?

Did your reaction change when you listed specifics? All of them? Some of them?

Do you have to be sinless? Or just not guilty of some specific 'sins' that we choose?
